"Creativity is thinking up new things.
Innovation is doing new things."
-Theodore Levitt
Creativity is risky because it requires doing things differently. Anytime we try to do something new or innovative, we make ourselves vulnerable to making mistakes, appearing foolish, end even being ridiculed. The truth is that creative endeavors don’t always work out. All risk has costs and benefits. I connected this idea when I try to cook something new. I am not one that follows a recipe, instead, I like to add a personal touch or substitute an ingredient to make the dish healthier. Sometimes it works out, but at others, we ended up ordering food or going to the restaurant. It is important to prepare ourselves with the right mindset to emphasize challenge, instead success. We should encourage effort, persistence, and improvement rather than results. Receive feedback with a growth mindset, reflect on what worked, and what can I do better.
