MY INNOVATION PLAN
Literacy ePortfolios
All good things start with a
DREAM.
The dream becomes a
VISION.
The vision becomes a
PLAN.
The plan becomes a
REALITY.

Since I became involved in education and discovered my passion for teaching, I wanted to be in the classroom full-time. However, I started observing many issues in the education system, so I decided to wait. For the last five years, I have worked as a long-term substitute teacher with different schools K-5 and observed the same problem among educators and students, the need for more motivation. Teachers try to follow the standard content in a classroom with different levels. As a result, frustration and disengagement. Schools must adopt innovative practices to address this problem and give students more personalized and purposeful learning to keep them engaged. The Innovation Proposal shows my vision of what I expect to achieve by implementing ePortfolios with 5th-grade students.
ePortfolios are learning tools that help students develop 21st-century skills like creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, and technology. I support my Innovation proposal with a Literature Review that describes the structure of ePortfolios and explores the benefits of each of their elements to keep students engaged during their learning process.
A clear vision of goals and objectives is crucial for successfully implementing ePortfolios. With a well-structured Implementation Outline, the plan becomes an action and then a reality. This strategic plan combines dates, goals, processes, and actions for the pilot with fifth-grade students and future expansion.
For further investigation, the Annotated Bibliography contains additional sources available related to ePortfolios implementation.
