Resources for Digital Environments

"Sharing knowledge is not about giving people something or getting something from them. That is only valid for information sharing. Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes." -Peter Senge

Among all 21st-century skills, collaboration is an essential one. Being an effective collaborator means working with others, learning from others, sharing with them, and expressing oneself to them. Collaboration enables teams to do their best work and is an important component of problem-solving and decision-making. This modern world in which we live offers us collaborative technology that simplifies sharing and accessing documents and training videos. Moreover, we can use technology to collaborate in real-time using tools like instant messaging or video conferencing software.

As a differentiated leader, I must be familiar with the best digital resources for communication and collaboration to develop my voice. I feel the responsibility to share with others and help them learn. I am not an expert, but my experience and lessons learned could be as valuable as formal research because many seek practical examples from people like me who use digital resources to enhance learning.

DIGITAL PUBLISHING

Digital publishing means using online tools to make media available via the Internet, like ebooks, blogs, and online publications. This course allows me to go through the process for an online publication that is connected to my Innovation plan. In this article, I plan to share my experience building an ePortfolio, and the benefits it can give to any student. The first step in this process is to create a Publication Outline.

The next step in publishing an article is to write a Publication Rough Draft.  The cognitive procedure I chose to write my article follows a conceptual process since it best matches the ideas I wish to share. Based on my experience working with 5th-grade students and the problem I observed, I could predict ePortfolios as the solution for student agency. Modeling the use of ePorfolio practice facilitates experimenting and evaluating my ideas through my Innovation Plan.

Podcasting or long-form video allows us to share our ideas through a digital discussion. It is another way to share my publication. My Media Project is the promotional video of my published article. This media project aims to give an overlook of publication to inspire and motivate other educators to implement ePortfolios in their classrooms.

Publication final draft is the last step in the process of sharing my voice and impacting others. I used technology to enhance my learning and to share my ideas and experiences with colleagues and other educators. My article was published in Academia.edu.
